Adrian Peterson To Avoid Surgery

Viking fans who were fretting over first-round draft pick/franchise savior Adrian Peterson’s lingering health issues can breathe a little easier. According to Purple Wonk extraordinaire Kevin Seifert, Peterson will not need surgery on his collarbone as previously expected. The team’s orthopedic specialist, Dr. Joel Boyd, says Peterson’s clavicle, which was originally broken last October 14 then re-injured in the Fiesta Bowl, is healing nicely on its own, and that Peterson will be ready for full contact when training camp kicks off in July. Peterson, who has seen doubts raised about his ability to take the pounding of an NFL season, is expected to wear a special custom-made clavicle protector under his shoulder-pads. Of course, if A.P. makes everyone miss the way we expect him too, it won’t matter – can’t get hurt if they can’t tackle you.
