Childress Clings To Delusions
Brad Childress is delusional if he thinks Tarvaris Jackson and Brooks Bollinger represent an adequate NFL quarterback tandem. Neither one of them is a starter, and frankly I’m not sure either is really a viable back-up at this point. But, Childress is nothing if not stubborn – he continues talking these guys up as best he can, as if somehow his enthusiasm will make his day-dreams real.
Said Childress of what Tarvaris Jackson needs to work on before the season stars (via the Pioneer-Press):
Just maintaining great conditioning. It’s hard to grow in the system when people aren’t standing in front of you, but he’ll work as hard as he can at it. And really all those guys; it’s a good [quarterback] group. It’s a good room to come into every day. I know Kevin [Rogers, quarterbacks coach] is excited about [Jackson's] progress, Brooks’ progress, all those kids.
So all Tarvaris needs to do between now and the season is lift weights and maybe do some pilates? And what did that mean about it being a “good room?” Is Childress working the Sands in Vegas now? Is he opening for Rickles? And don’t try to sell us some crap about everyone being “excited” about the progress of your QBs, Brad. Maybe they’re pleased or satisfied, but no one’s excited.

Rickles…rotfl…how long are we giving Childress anyway. One year…two?
June 12th, 2007 at 12:26 pmI'm betting Wilf promised him this year and next. Frankly I'd rather have Rickles. The press conferences would be hilarious.
