Vikings Sign Fourth 2007 Draft Pick

Scout.com reports the Vikings have signed fifth-round draft pick Aundrae Allison, a wide receiver out of East Carolina. This means the Vikes have locked up half their 2007 picks – Allison, LB Rufus Alexander, WR Chandler Williams and QB Tyler Thigpen, leaving DE Brian Robison, CB Marcus McCauley, WR Sidney Rice and RB Adrian Peterson still unsigned.

The speedy Allison, considered a steal in the fifth-round by some, finds himself in the middle of a crowded receiver corps, but is helped by the fact that most of said receivers are as unestablished as he is. A young guy like Allison or Jason Carter who stands out in camp has a good chance of winning significant playing-time once the season starts.
