Vikings training camp is officially underway.  Click here for exciting pictures, including Chilly listening to his iPod (he seems like an ABBA man to me).

The Atlanta Falcons have signed number eight overall draft pick DE Jamaal Anderson to a contract. Anderson was picked one spot after Viking RB Adrian Peterson, meaning the Vikings now have a number by which they can establish Peterson’s market value.  Meanwhile, Peterson says he’s not greedy but just wants a fair deal.  He still thinks he can be in camp by Friday’s first practice.  That ain’t happening though.

Second-round pick Sidney Rice should be signed today and in camp by tomorrow.

Pro Football Weekly doesn’t like the Purple’s chances.

Ex-Viking and current Packer receiver Koren Robinson has been in jail in St. Peter, Minnesota since July 18.   Gonzo thinks this is funny.  Even drunk, Koren Robinson would be a better receiver than anything the Vikes currently have on the roster.

Speaking of drunk people…ex-Viking QB Tommy Kramer was arrested in San Antonio last weekend on suspicion of DWI.   He reportedly called the arresting officer “coach.”  Most cops in Texas do bear a striking resemblance to Bud Grant, I’ve been told.
