Childress Misses A Practice; Vikes Not Interested In Simon

A couple things happened in Purpleland today.  The first is that Brad Childress missed practice, and for a time there were rumblings that a coup had taken place.  Well, not really – though Kevin Seifert did make a nice funny by linking to a pic of Al Haig while reporting that defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier had momentarily taken over head coaching duties (you younguns won’t get that one but don’t sweat it).  Anyway, Childress had to miss the session for a family emergency, and was back before the day was over.  Of course he refused to comment on the nature of the situation and that’s fine – I don’t think anyone should ever feel they have to remark on a personal matter like that.

Childress did say in his little press session that DT Fred Evans has finally cleared up his legal issues and is good to go.  He also said that the team has no interest in bringing in Corey Simon – so you can put that little rumor to bed.  Childress also informed us that Mike Doss, Mike Hawkins and Vinny Ciurciu are out of Saturday’s game with the Seahawks.
