No Blackout

Viking fans in the Minneapolis area have been fretting for awhile now over the possibility of games being blacked-out.  I haven’t posted on the story myself because, thankfully, I live far enough outside the Twin Cities that I get all the games regardless of whether the stadium sells out – in other words, since it didn’t affect me directly, I didn’t care about it.  See how that works?

Anyway, I felt obligated to at least mention that the blackout has been averted, at least for week 1 against Atlanta.  The last 1,200 tickets were reportedly snapped up by Minneapolis FOX affiliate KMSP, who stood to lose quite a bit of ad revenue if the game didn’t air.  So now everyone can stop worrying about not getting to see the Purple thrash Joey Harrington and the Falcons on Sunday.  You will all, like me, be able to sit back and enjoy the carnage.
