The regular season is about to start. The late breaking Viking news is that Erasmus James, Mewelde Moore and Robert Ferguson have all been declared inactive for today. Erasmus isn’t much of a surprise since he’s coming off surgery and barely played this preseason. As for Mewelde, I have no idea what’s going on with him – maybe Childress didn’t like his body language. Ferguson, we were led to believe, would be able to play with his bum ankle, but apparently something happened in the meantime.
Also, Kelly Holcomb is officially being listed as the no. 3 QB. No shock since he’s still learning the offense. The Atlanta inactives include Chris Crocker and Rod Coleman, as expected.
Update: Sean Jensen says Adrian Peterson has been fielding kickoffs during warm-ups. Maybe he just likes fielding kickoffs?
