Vikings, Bucs Talking Trade
The Vikings and Buccaneers are discussing a trade that would send RB Mewelde Moore to Tampa in exchange for some kind of draft-pick. So far, the Vikings are said to be holding out for a first-day pick, while the best the Bucs are offering is a sixth-rounder.
A sixth-round pick for a guy who has been inactive twice this season would seem reasonable I guess. However, Moore does have value at least as an insurance policy behind Adrian and Chester, especially given that Chester has already been hurt once this year. Of course, Mewelde’s contract is up after this year, and I think it’s safe to say he won’t be re-signing with the Vikings (unless he likes not even suiting up). Whether the Vikes are able to squeeze more than a second-day pick out of Tampa really depends on how desperate Tampa is for a runner in the wake of Cadillac Williams’s injury. And on whether some other, more attractive player becomes available.
