Brace or No Brace, He Still Leaves ‘Em in a Purple Haze

The Lions just couldn’t stop Adrian Peterson, even if he was slowed down a bit by his knee and brace. Purple Jesus can’t be stopped, so expect defenses to keep being left in a Purple Haze. Might as well be on LSD, because they can’t stop AD. And you also can expect more of these Jimi-tuned highlight reels…

    1.  First off, I love Adrian Peterson.  There’s a good reason why Vikes fans call him Purple Jesus…and that reason needs no further explanation. However…everytime he gets the ball in his hands, you just tense up and squint, because you know 1) he’s going to run as hard and fast as he can possibly run, 2) if he’s getting taken down, he’s taking an opponent with him (possibly/usually more than one, as seen in the video). The guy runs like a locolocomotive, on EVERY play.  It’s insane!  It’s like having…the best running back in the NFL on your team (which he IS, and which I cannot think of a better analogy for this example).2.  Dare I say it – Vikes fans – Childress might (just "might") be our guy.  Although he looks like a hybrid Ned Flanders/Hulk Hogan offspring, he has been compared to the leader of a biker gang (see: Vikings Insider – Belichick reference), and now the current leader of (at least) the hottest team in the NFL.In the past few weeks he has managed to not only turn away the angry mob that is Minnesota Vikings fans from New York to Los Angeles (we ARE everywhere), but managed to make use of rookies.  Even better, make use of rookies that produce. My own personal opinion on the seeming new direction our offense is taking is "keep f*&^%ng! doing it".Trick plays, yes.Aggressive third down plays, yes.Even more aggressive first and second down plays, yes.All in all I do believe that the now "alive" Vikings have a chance as playoff contenders.  I also believe that we may have been witnessing the "growing pains" of a possibly brilliant (young) team throughout the first half of the season.Go Vikes, and Go Ned Flanders!  Bring the "Leftorium" to the next defense we face, and we might (again) find victory!
