Injury Troubles
The Bears game was a hard-fought one – and like all grinding games, it took a physical toll even on the victors. That toll is still being felt by certain members of the Vikings, especially Antoine Winfield and Sidney Rice, both of whom missed practice for the second straight day today.
Antoine strained his pectoral muscle jumping futilely after the ball late in the first half against Chicago, while Rice hurt his ankle getting tangled up with Charles Tillman. Obviously, those are two guys we can ill-afford to be without for these vital last two games. I don’t know how others feel, but I see dark clouds beginning to build over this team. I didn’t like the way they played overall against the Bears, and I really didn’t like the way Tarvaris Jackson performed. Plus our offensive line just hasn’t looked dominating the last two games (which has been reflected in Adrian Peterson’s diminishing rushing stats). I hope it’s just me being my pessimistic old self, but I don’t know. I’m rooting hard (not to be too much of a Judist), but my gut tells me this team will be sitting home for the playoffs.

I agree that the Bears game was ugly, but we still got the win. T-Jack’s play wasn’t good, but he had a career high of 249 passing yards. And that was good enough for us to come back and win. I know it was only the Bears but it was still a must-win for us to get into the playoffs and we got it. I think Tarvaris will play well enough to get us into the playoffs but I have a hard time believing he’ll be good enough to let us be successful in the playoffs.
