Kevin Seifert speculates that the Vikings could take a look at WR Marty Booker, who was recently released by the Dolphins (along with about a hundred other guys). Seifert’s reasoning: Booker is a wide receiver; the Vikings need wide receivers; Booker has a connection to player personnel guy Rick Spielman; the Vikings front office people like guys they know personally.
Sounds reasonable. But is Booker a good fit? He’s up there in years (he’ll be 32 by the start of the season). He’s more of a possession-type guy, while the Vikings really need a deep threat. He’s an okay player but he doesn’t really grab you. I’d rather have Bernard Berrian.
