Dwight Smith has left the Vikings, but it looks like he may not be going far. Mlive.com reports Smith will visit the Lions today along with tackle L.J. Shelton. Rod Marinelli has said he wants to fill as many needs through free agency as possible and not rely on the draft, so it looks like Dwight may have a decent shot to catch on there.

One man’s turd is another man’s gold.Indeed.The Lions never cease to amaze me. If they decide to sign Smith, that would the 4th safety theyeither paid big money for as a free agent, or picked on the first day of the draft, in 4 years. I've given up trying to figure them out...
