And the Vikings' New Quarterback is…

Sage Rosenfels.

The Purple have reportedly offered the Houston Texans a 3rd-round pick in return for Rosenfels, who went 4-1 last year in 5 starts in relief of Matt Schaub. Here were Sage’s overall numbers:

1684 yards, 15 TDs, 12 INTs, 64.2 % completions, 84.8 QB rating.

Okay, so Rosenfels wasn’t even on my radar at all. But he had a decent year last year and he seems like a sound guy to bring in and push Tarvaris Jackson in camp. He’ll be 30 on March 6 so he’s not overly old. I like him better than some of the other people who were discussed, including Trent Green, Josh McCown and Cleo Lemon. Obviously, it would’ve been fun to see the Vikings make a push for Derek Anderson should he have become available, but the bidding on him would’ve been insane. Now we need some receivers for Rosenfels and T-Jack to throw to.

Topics: Minnesota Vikings, Sage Rosenfels, Tarvaris Jackson

I guess thats ok. I would rather have Trant Green tho. Atleast TJ now knows he has to work for his spot.
