Vikings Will Meet With Bernard Berrian; Still No QB; Other Stuff

Bernard Berrian is going to fly into Winter Park to meet with Vikings brass. The Tennessee Titans are believed to be the other team that’s in on him. Will quarterback be a factor in his decision? It’s not like Vince Young is some great ball-slinger either, but Berrian could think he has a better chance to put up numbers with Tennessee. Then again, the Vikings have such a great running game, maybe Berrian will like the idea of playing on a team that routinely sees safeties being taken out of pass coverage.

Bengals DE Justin Smith will also visit the Vikes. Smith is a run-stopping defensive end rather than the big speed-rusher the Vikings desperately need. He would replace Kenechi Udeze.

Sage Rosenfels was rumored to be coming the Purple’s way, but that fell through. The other names being bandied about include J.P. Losman and Josh McCown. I would’ve rather had Rosenfels than either of those guys. Rumored Viking target Cleo Lemon signed with the Jaguars and will no doubt form a fearsome combo with Troy Williamson. Jerry Porter is also going to Jacksonville.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing in Mewelde Moore. We all knew Mewelde was going to be gone.

The 49ers have reportedly signed Dontarrious Thomas. Heath Farwell is expected to step into his fourth linebacker slot and that’s fine with me.

Niners RB Maurice Hicks is being brought in this weekend. Hicks is a good kick returner and God knows the Vikings could use a good kick returner.
