2008 Schedule Released

Posted by: danzinski

The NFL released the 2008 schedule to much fanfare today. Things have kind of gotten ridiculous when the release of the schedule warrants a constant crawl and sidebar on ESPN, but whatever. Here’s what the Vikings will face in ‘08:

Mon, Sept. 8 @ Green Bay Packers
Sun, Sept. 14 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Sun, Sept. 21 vs. Carolina Panthers
Sun, Sept. 28 @ Tennessee Titans
Mon, Oct. 6 @ New Orleans Saints
Sun, Oct. 12 vs. Detroit Lions
Sun, Oct. 19 @ Chicago Bears
Bye
Sun, Nov. 2 vs. Houston Texans
Sun, Nov. 9 vs. Green Bay Packers
Sun, Nov. 16 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sun, Nov. 23 @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sun, Nov. 30 vs. Chicago Bears
Sun, Dec. 7 @ Detroit Lions
Sun, Dec. 14 @ Arizona Cardinals
Sun, Dec. 21 vs. Atlanta Falcons
Sun, Dec. 28 vs. New York Giants

Three prime-time games this year, against the Packers on the opening Monday night, on Monday night again against the Saints and then an NBC night game against the Bears in late November.  I call that the Adrian Peterson factor. We’ve got a couple of tough back-to-back road game situations in there.  Titans and Saints, then Bucs and Jags.  But, the late-season schedule looks favorable, at least on the surface.  Road games at Detroit and Arizona, and then at home against the Falcons and Giants.  The Giants, as we know, hate playing the Vikings, and this year for once we get them at the Dome.
