A little final twist in the Erasmus James story…today it was announced that the Vikings pulled James back from waivers just before the deadline, then traded him to the Redskins for a conditional 2009 seventh-round draft pick.
Apparently new Redskins defensive line coach John Palermo, who coached at Wisconsin when James was there, sold the team on James to the extent that they didn’t want to chance someone putting in a waiver claim on him ahead of them.
Anyway, James won’t have to worry about being out of a job right away. He gets to continue trying to rehab his knee and somewhere down the line earn a spot in Washington.
i guess its better to take something than nothin if gonna get rid of him any ways
This guy is going to become a solid 10 sack per season DE for us.
if you yhink that bum james is gonna put up 10 sacks you are on acid.james has five sacks in 3 years with us. u might ten over a 5 year period
He had 4 sacks in his first 9 starts his rookie year. Then became troubled the next two years with his torn ACL. If his knee really is 100% it is not a far stretch to see him get 10 sacks. Look at the difference in Mario Williams between year 1 and year 2. This in theory will be James’ second season.
James will never be healthy enough to put in a second year. He is just another cursed 1st rounder for he Vikes. Keep dreaming.
Ps I haven’t from Jax fans about Troy Williamsom snagging 75 receptions and a thousand yards. Maybe they are more realistic. Good luck to EJ anyway but I don’t think luck is enough
James had a torn ACL/MCL. Its a two year recovery time. Yall gave up on him one year too soon.
are you kidding me west coast. you’ll see for your self. it was only a 7th round but i got a feeling ya’ll suckers will be missing it. see you in the superbowl son. go vikes 08
Dont get angry just because your team forgot they could only have 11 players on defense.
