Daunte Culpepper Rules the 2-Minute Drill

What would you say if I told you Daunte Culpepper was the undisputed master of the 2-Minute Drill?

You would probably laugh at me.  You might even say, “How can he be the master of the 2-Minute Drill when he doesn’t even play anymore?”

Laugh all you want; doubt all you want – Daunte Culpepper is, in fact, the master of the 2-Minute Drill.  No less an authoritative source than the Guinness Book of World Records confirms this.

Of course, the Two-Minute Drill we’re talking about is the side-game inside the Madden video game.

Still dubious?  Well, it’s true – Daunte Culpepper is officially listed as having the highest score ever attained in Madden Two-Minute Drill: 14,500 points.

The former Vikings QB accomplished the feat at EA’s 20th Anniversary Premiere Party for Madden ’09.  He used Madden ’02 to set the record…playing as himself, and connecting with his old real-life teammate Randy Moss.  Guinness was there to record the accomplishment.

And you thought Daunte couldn’t read a defense.

Actually, this story is a bit disheartening.  All those years Daunte was accused of not working hard enough on his game…now we know what he was doing when he should’ve been studying film.  There’s your real Madden curse as far as I’m concerned.
