Childress: No Contact With Packers About Favre

Brad Childress on reports the Vikings were contacted by the Packers about a Brett Favre trade:

Bob [Hagan, the Vikings director of public relations] showed me that article last night.  I was in a personnel meeting with Rick [Spielman] and George Paton until 11 o’clock with the coaches. I have a pretty good idea how that [article] went down but you can shape the environment however you want one way or the other. We haven’t had any contact with them.

Childress pointed out that the guy who wrote the Favre-contacting-Vikings story also came up with the story about Favre using a Packer-owned cell-phone during the alleged phone calls that sent up tampering red flags.  That story turned out to be bogus.  Obviously, if the Packers and Vikings did speak, Chilly wouldn’t admit it.
