You’re sick of Favre, I’m sick of Favre…and yet I have no choice but to blog on the latest – that the Packers called the Vikings on Friday and told them the Hall-of-Fame quarterback could be had in a trade. Favre is in Green Bay right now, ready to report for camp. The Packers say they will let him compete with Aaron Rodgers for the starting job but that Rodgers is, at the moment, their #1 QB.
What would it take for the Vikings to get Favre? The Packers have zero trade leverage right now, since Minnesota is the only place Favre would consent to go…a situation that would certainly chase away any other trade partners (no one’s going to give up a draft pick for a guy who won’t report). I’m guessing Favre could be had for a fourth-round pick right now. Not an excessive price, especially when you consider what the Vikes gave up for Jared Allen. The Packers probably wouldn’t hold out for much more, realizing the market just isn’t there (thanks to Brett all-but-eliminating every other team), and given how anxious they are to be done with the whole affair.
I’d do another odds board but my odds boards are always way off. Plus no one involved in the story seems to be behaving rationally, and that makes it hard to guess.

Senser's half-right...Favre is done as a Packer.
