Misunderstood McKinnie

Bryant McKinnie is saying pretty much what you’d expect him to say about the semi-limbo he finds himself in after his offseason arrest for using a metal pole to beat the crap out of a nightclub bouncer:

I actually have been focused on football.  I feel like some of the stuff that happened in the offseason has been my motivation to play well this season. I’ve been pretty focused.

People may not know the whole story.  Sometimes it might get portrayed as one way when that might not be the case. … I guess when everything is done and over with, then you could possibly talk about it. It depends on how everything goes.

Someday Mount will have to explain to me how getting arrested for being a violent dickhead could possibly act as motivation for one to play better on the football field.  Maybe if you were still really angry at the guy you clocked with the pole you could project his face onto the player you were trying to block and that would make you want to maul him even more.  A little more aggression might be a good thing for Bryant actually, given his occasional slug-like tendencies.

It seems a foregone conclusion that Bryant will be suspended for some part of the regular season – what we still don’t know is for how long.  I still wish there was some way we could get out from under this mountain of turd but it looks like we’re stuck with him.

Ballhype: hype it up!
