The Return of Henson
The Detroit Lions have signed former Vikings quarterback and failed New York Yankees prospect Drew Henson. Yes, they’ve signed him as a football player. Not as a scout or a coach or one of those guys who unkinks the cord to the coach’s headset during the game. Another Detroit QB named Drew, Stanton, sprained his thumb in practice and will be out a month, necessitating the addition of a warm body to the roster. And that’s about all Henson is at this point – a warm body. Although, since these are the Lions, there’s probably a decent chance he’ll wind up the starter by the opening of the season. Matt Millen might decide he likes the cut of Henson’s jib and order whoever the hell their coach is now to put him in. The Lions never stop being funny even for a second.
