New Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has the official endorsement of Vikings kicker, and former Packer, Ryan Longwell. “A good guy, he’ll be fine,” Longwell told Sid Hartman. “He has the fortune to kind of learn the NFL without having to be on the field, and that’s a huge advantage for him. I think he has a lot of confidence and has that X-factor that you need as a quarterback, and I think he’ll be fine with it.”
I’m sure the Packer faithful are reassured to know Ryan Longwell likes their guy. I’m sure it will assuage all their doubts and remove that sick burning feeling from the pits of their stomachs. I’m sure they will go into tonight’s game without even a shred of anxiety over the new guy’s ability to pick up where their Hall of Fame QB left off. Did I mention that the Hall of Fame QB is 1-0 with his new team? Okay, it was only the Dolphins, but still…every time Favre wins a game with the Jets, that’s a little more pressure on Rodgers. And Rodgers already has more pressure on him than any QB in the league. Except maybe Matt Cassel.
