I Didn't Think it Was That Funny Myself…

Brad Childress has found the humor in Tarvaris Jackson‘s hideous first half performance against Green Bay last night.  When speaking to reporters about the 16 yards Jackson amassed in those two quarters, Chilly quipped, “Is that, like, a record?”  I don’t know Chilly.  What’s the record for the fastest a mediocre coach has been run out of town after it became clear the quarterback he’s staked his reputation on is a pile of dogpoop?  I’m not sure what else has to happen for Childress et al to realize Jackson will never be good enough to run this offense with any consistency.  The saving grace is that, the way Jackson has run the ball so far this year, he’ll probably tear his knee up and that will be the end of him one way or the other.

I’m a lifelong Vikings fan in the Dallas area.  Several years ago I would laugh at the Cowboy fans as they struggled through 5-11 seasons trying to convince themselves that Quincy Carter was the Cowboy QB of the future.  God forgive me.  The similarities between Carter and Tavaris Jackson go way beyond the color of their skin.  Lack of talent is a good place to start.  Lack of “grey matter” is close behind.  I can only hope that Jackson has an affinity for the wacky weed as strong as Quincy’s that ended up costing him his Cowboy career.  God forgive me.

You’re the second person who’s made that Jackson/Carter comparison and frankly I’m starting to agree.

I was sick of the T- Jax “experiement” last year and Monday’s game did nothing to change that. He still hesitates and his throw into 3 Pack defenders at the end of the game shows me he will never be counted on in the 2 minute drill. While the Pats are working out Chris Sims maybe we should have invited him over here. Not the long term answer but a lot better than what we have now. Stupid, unimaginative, play calling combined with Jackson made it one boring game for a Vikes fan to watch.

T-Jax needs move much faster in the hole, he has only 5 to 10 sec. to get out there that all!, and anymore more time he waste cost us the game
