Good point! This isn’t really an improvement, it’s just change for the sake of change. That rarely works out to be an improvement.
Tj is a backup-quality quarterback. So is Gus.
The play calling will still be uncreative. The secondary will still be weak. The results will be the same—another loss.
When ownership is incapable of identifying the two biggest problems – the GM and head coach – the incompentence from the top down can only continue.
The Vikings will once again be fighting to keep out of last place.
September 17th, 2008 at 3:31 pmMy fingers are crossed that Gus will do the job but I’m not sold on him.
September 17th, 2008 at 5:25 pmI think the offensive struggles are going to continue as long as Childress keeps playing it safe. They expect the Vikes to run the ball as they should. But mix it up, don’t automatically run on 1st and 2nd down and then throw when its obvious. Wake up Childress. Be creative and make them guess. Run some different sets and actually throw the ball from them even when its a running formation. No question Tavaris is struggling, but he is handcuffed by play calling that sets him up for failure. The running game will be much better if they have to think about defending the pass. That 160 might have been 260 if the Colts had to play pass defense. I think the struggles will continue as long as Childress is at the wheel. If they don’t call the plays better even if the qb’s name was Brady or Manning it would not get more then mediocre results.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:02 pmChilly will open up the offense – for the last game of the season, when the team is fighting for that all-important fifth win.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:31 pmIN GUS WE TRUST! I think most guys are better than Jackson at this point.
September 17th, 2008 at 11:27 pmI expect the Queens will win one more game than they otherwise would have won with T-Jax…that being 7.
The problem with the Vi-Queens is that they have decided to follow the Dan Snyder method of putting together a pro football team. The Snyder method is a proven loser.
Try the Ted Thompson method. It works.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:36 pmI wouldn’t get too cocky about the “Ted Thompson method.” Rodgers has only played two games. There’s plenty of time for everyone to regret the Favre move.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:46 pmI agree with dan. Rodgers really hasn’t really played any good pass defenses yet. Us and the lions? Lets wait and see what he can do against Dallas.
