E.J. Henderson's Season is Over

Terrible news just in from Judd Zulgad of the Star-Trib…E.J. Henderson‘s dislocated toes have created a worse problem for him than was initially thought, and now instead of missing just a month, the Pro Bowl caliber middle linebacker has been placed on IR, meaning a premature end to his 2008 campaign.  The toes were originally hurt against Tennessee, and it seemed at first that E.J. had dodged significant injury.  But with each passing day it became more clear that something major was amiss.  The team will undoubtedly feel E.J.’s loss, given the huge contribution he made in both pass and run defense, but it’s just the sort of thing you have to pull yourself together and get through.  David Herron will take E.J.’s place at middle linebacker starting tonight in New Orleans.  An already bad season is beginning to take on nightmare dimensions.

I believe that Henderson probably has a Lisfranc Fracture.  This is horrible news.

That would be the logical conclusion.  Good call.
