A resolution has been reached in the Thomas Tapeh situation.  The fullback, whom the Vikings signed in the off-season only to learn he had undergone undisclosed knee surgery, has reached a settlement with the team and been given his release.  No details have yet been given but we presume Tapeh had to pay back some of his $1 million signing bonus.  This has almost no impact on the field since Tapeh wasn’t playing anyway, but it does have impact in overall perceptions of the Vikings organization, which is beginning to look like a big fat joke.  Honestly, how do you not know the physical condition of a man you’re signing to a contract?  Brad Childress looks more like an overmatched amateur with each passing day.  Zygi Wilf has to regret hiring him, doesn’t he?

Zygi Wilf has to regret hiring him, doesn’t he?

Apparently not, since there was this little gem of a line in the Sid Hartman column today.

“At this point, the Wilf family is very content with the coaching job done by Childress. The owners, not those fans who know nothing about football, will decide the future of the coach.”

Isn’t that just awesome?  I mean, insulting your fans’ intelligence is a definite way to keep them out of the stadium, isn’t it?
