Special teams, aren't they suppose to be working on that in July and August. I've watched the NFL for a long time and I'm sure it's gone by my ears when the announcers have said things about special teams through the years, but the Vikes special teams are so weak.....unbelievably so....as old John McKay use to say about when he coached the early Tampa Bay, he was offended that team was the worst in history, maybe second worst wouldn't be that bad, but these guys are like the worst at times in history. Chin Up! I'll keep my support no matter what and will support these guys till season's end and then it is up to the administration to decide. This team cannot put a complete game together on O/D/Spec Teams. Chilly has figured out his offense can move with Gus, the D has a high payroll but I don't see the smash mouth attitude from half of them and that hurts us. Special teams coaching was overlooked prior to last week, as the worst coached group in the bunch. Jimmy said exactly what I meant last week. I described after Reggies TD's how I observed basic coverage plans as a high school assistant. Not only are Vikes special teams not coached at basic principles of coverage , they look slow, lost, and out of persuit position. As was written here, lame squibs, pop ups, etc., is just a bunch crap not backed up with poor coverage. We finally get an offense clicking and actualyy a little better play calling and the D forgets to show up and special teams gives them a helping had in letting the Bears keep in the game and win. This could havve been the blow out we needed to resurge some of the spirit and attitude this team was lacking. They just don't seem to want to put it all together. What I said before.
