Okay I’m done predicting tough defensive battles. I picked a 13-12 score out of my ass for this game and it’s already 14-14 – in the first quarter. Interesting developments so far include a fumbled snap by Chris Kluwe leading to a blocked punt and TD for the Bears. The Vikings answered this by driving the field for a TD to Visanthe Shiancoe. The Vikes have thus far kept the ball away from Devin Hester but it’s giving the Bears good field position. It’s tough putting your defense in a corner like that. At some point you might have to just kick it to Hester and take your chances.
There have been some other interesting wrinkles early in this one. The Bears have come out in no-huddle a lot and we know how the Vikings struggle against the no-huddle. The first Vikings offensive drive featured Adrian Peterson running without a fullback, something a lot of people have been advocating for in recent weeks, and Peterson on an end-around. Peterson has lined up as a receiver at least twice already. Brad Childress also went for it on fourth and goal from the one, leading to a Peterson TD. The offensive play calling has been interesting and effective so far.
Great play… blocking the FGA!!! go vikes!!!!!!!!
24-24…. new game… new game!!!!!
Entertaining game so far. Now if we could just avoid stupid mistakes…
