Update: Allen Hurt

Jared Allen appeared to hurt his shoulder while going to the turf during yesterday’s win over the Texans.  He was able to return to the game, but did have to miss some snaps in the second half.  Now it’s being reported that Allen has a partially separated shoulder and had to have a pain injection during halftime.  The source is Brad Childress who apparently gave this news to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports.  We’ll see what Childress says during his press conference today – if he suddenly goes back on it being a separated shoulder.  Whatever the full truth, it appears Jared is legitimately hurt.  Hopefully he’ll be able to tough it out.  If the Williamses get suspended and we lose Jared – well, then we’re screwed even more righteously than we would’ve been anyway.

Update:  Just as I thought…Brad Childress’s story about Jared’s shoulder changed during his press conference.  Now it’s only a sprain and not separated.  I’m guessing Brad just mis-spoke himself when he told the Yahoo! Sports guy it was separated.
