Season of Frustration

Brought to you by BetPheonix Sportsbook, make your NFL Sundays with the Viking more memorable.

Madieu Williams is feeling the frustration after suffering a freak injury during special teams practice Wednesday – an injury that will likely keep him out of tomorrow’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  “I was just kind of going for the ball and took a nasty fall,” Williams described. “It’s kind of unfortunate but there are worse things that could happen. I just have to bounce back.”  This is Williams’ second significant injury of the season.  The first, a neck injury, happened early in camp and kept him out of the season’s first seven games.  He played the last two games, and had a major impact in both, intercepting a pass against Houston and executing a huge open-field tackle on Donald Driver to keep the Packers in long field goal range at the end of the game last Sunday.  Tyrell Johnson will once again be called on to start if Williams is unable to go.
