Gus Flop Flap

So here’s my official take on Gus Frerotte possibly going full-Vlade when hit from behind by Adewale Ogunleye a second after delivering an incomplete pass Sunday:

I don’t care.

It didn’t mean diddly-poo in the larger picture – we won.  And so what if it was a weak, soccer-player-type effort by Gus?  He’s a quarterback, not an actor.  He’s not going to be going up against Sean Penn and Russell Crowe at Oscar time.  I think we should applaud Gus for his effort, if in fact that was a flop, which I’m still not 100% convinced it was.  The real issue is that Ogunleye obviously hit the quarterback while he was in a invulnerable position well after the play was over and there should’ve been a flag.  Whether Gus exaggerated the severity of the hit by pretending to crumble unconscious to the turf is immaterial – a late hit is a late hit.  Ogunleye did not look like he was holding up or trying to avoid contact.  The ref, if he saw the play at all, should’ve flagged it.  Period.  Bottom line.  End of story.  By the way, the Bears suck and we’re in first.

Couldnt agree more! Long story short, that hit could NOT have felt good. Whether he flopped or not, it was absolutely uncalled for and it should have been flagged.

“By the way, the Bears suck and we’re in first.”

    HELL YEA!
