Vikes Pick Up a Tackle

Posted by: danzinski

The Vikings today signed defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy to hopefully help fill in for Pat and Kevin Williams who are going to miss the rest of the regular season barring some legal miracle.  Kennedy is listed at 6-4, 320, and was originally a first-round pick by the Rams out of Penn State in 2003.  He had a few decent years with the Rams, the best being 2006 when he played in all 16 games and notched 30 tackles and a sack.  He then left for the Bears and had an undistinguished 2007, appearing in only 3 games.  It was onto Jacksonville for the ‘08 season but, again, Kennedy was little more than a spare part and was finally cut toward the end of November.  He hasn’t been inactive long so hopefully he’s in shape.
