Forget Frerotte

Gus Frerotte, who suffered a back injury in Sunday’s win over Detroit and missed the second half, was kept out of practice today and probably won’t get any work in for the rest of the week.  This means we will almost certainly be seeing Tarvaris Jackson as the starting quarterback Sunday against Arizona.  I don’t need to tell everyone how important this game is.  I’d personally feel a lot safer with the veteran Frerotte in there, but we’ll have to settle for Jackson who acquitted himself reasonably well in place of Frerotte Sunday.  Hopefully T-Jack will be able to build on what he did against the atrocious Lions and won’t revert to the form he showed during his two games this year and in past seasons when he was basically inept.  I’ll be the first to pat Jackson on the back if he plays well Sunday, but I expect mediocrity if not outright suckage.
