Pat Williams will miss 2-6 weeks after breaking his scapula during yesterday’s merciless pummeling of the Arizona Cardinals. Sean Jensen of the Pioneer-Press says Williams was hurt when Chad Greenway ran into him. The NFL couldn’t take big Pat down but Greenway could. Thankfully, we will still have one half of the Williams wall, assuming Greenway doesn’t also injure Kevin. Losing both Williamses would’ve really killed our season but we can endure losing just Pat, if Fred Evans or someone like that is able to step it up. Obviously, the main concern is the caliber of running back we’ll be facing the rest of the way. It’s Michael Turner up next and then maybe Brandon Jacobs, and if he is still unable to go, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw who are both pretty good themselves. Obviously, the 2-6 week time frame leaves open the possibility of Pat making it back for the playoffs. Wouldn’t it be cool if we could somehow sneak into that #2 seed and get an extra week off for Pat to get well?
