And that is why the team will leave. Call it apathy. Call it what you will.

I think Minnesota fans are trying to send a message, yes. They are trying to send a message that they don't like the way that this particular team is arranged. Be it the players that they have, the coaching. Whatever it is, its obvious the fans don't like this team any more. So they are trying to send a message to Zygi, "Hey, throw us a curveball. We want a different looking team."

Unfortunately for Viking fans, the only message that Zygi Wilf is going to hear is, "We don't want you any more. You can't have our HARD EARNED dollars any more."

And Zygi's response will be to pack up and leave the state behind. He'll take it to a place where people long for a football team. And it will be a sad day in Minnesota.

So keep it up Minnesota. Your wish is Zygi's command.

I think it is funny. I know alot of people who could careless about professional athletes. They are overpaid crybabies that has created this mess. The people of Minnesota have spoken.....they could careless what happens on Sunday and have definitly decided to spend their hard earned money elsewhere.

I just can't believe you people! I don't know how many Minnesotans read this blog, and I'm sure of those even less read the subsequent comments.

Pathetic. That word keeps ringing around in my head. Nothing better can describe what I have seen and heard from you this season, Minnesota "fans". One thing after another. If there was a win this season, it wasn't big enough. If there was a loss you were declaring the season over and done with.

Now we are here. We are finally in the promised land of the playoffs and this awful fan base can't even muster the courage, the excitement to show up at the game. You would all rather sit at home and not see it at all because your afraid they'll lose.

Let me introduce you to a concept. The concept is called a "sports team." You see a "sports team" plays a "sport". You see "sports" are difficult. Many things must go right for a "sports team" to win. Sometimes, they lose. Other times they win. But at all times it is entertaining.

This is where fans come into the concept. No "sports team" is complete without a "fan base". A "fan base" loves its team. It goes to games that its team plays and cheers for them. Even when things seem hopeless, they are supposed to hold out hope that if they cheer hard enough the "sports team" that they cheer for will reward their loyalty with glory on the "field/rink/arena floor."

So here we are Minnesota. Our "sports team" has finally delivered on its slowly building promise of the last three years. We are playoff bound. The season is a success.

And instead of enjoying it like a true "fan base". This one instead chooses to find all the reasons that success is not truly success. Instead this "fan base" is finding all the reasons to hate its team.

Well I'm sick of it. I'm so sick of it. I don't identify with you people any more. I don't know what wool has been pulled over my eyes that for so long convinced me that my fellow fans loved this team as I do, because the wool has been removed. I see you for what you really are.

You are a cold, cynical bunch. You are an undeserving bunch. And the team will turn its back on you. It will not do so publicly, and certainly will put its best face forward. But come 2012 the purple and yellow jerseys will head to the same place the other purple and yellow jerseys headed.

Sunny, beautiful, "sports team" starved Los Angeles.

And LA will greet it with open arms. And I will still be able to love them because I have always loved them.

And you will feel nothing but loss and anger. And that is the fate that you are creating for yourself, Minnesota. By not showing support for a team that absolutely deserves it.

Pathetic.

Loosing the Vikings isn't just loosing a football team, it's loosing a company that contributes greatly to Min. Those who oppose public funding for a new Vikings stadium look upon the organization as jackals feeding from the public, but overlook the other 30+ players that are paying to build playgrounds for your children, charity events raising money for the less fortunate (or like Warrick Dunn buying houses for families on the end of their rope), and those players visitting cancer children in the hospital and actually giving them something to smile about. Whether the governor or key legislators consider the Vikings to be part of the fabric of Minnesota or not, there are those at-risk children and those that are not going to see the end of the football season that will be uplifted, even if just for a day, by meeting a pro football player. That's saying a lot that a population of people can put a price on that, and still say no....what a great world we live in.

Wow.

The home fans continue to impress me with their utter lack of love for this team. We are in the playoffs and we are still berating the coaching and expecting the worst.

What a cynical bunch. Frankly, the fans don't deserve the team now, or ever as far as I'm concerned. I hope they move. I hope they move soon.

Los Angeles can steal yet another team from our "great" state. And good riddance.

Pathetic.

well I am personally a little disapointed in how nobody has been cheering our team on esp. the last few games. So I wonder how the Ziggies feel about it.
But I am wondering that if they do fire Chilly, would that change fan base views since a lot of the viking faithfuls gave up on him before the season started? (I have also not been impressed with his coaching since he first started) What would it take to get the fans back? (Ziggy has got to notice this and can't be that stubborn.....can he?) I guess we'll see in the offseason
