and you are right about those superbowl losses. killed me.....we lost 3 superbowls by a total of 11 points. and can't totally blame jackie smith for the drop. roger did throw behind him cause him to turn back, slip and loose his footing and as he hit the turf he lost the ball. jackie was devistated. he retired to his texas ranch and was hardly ever heard from after. yeah the steelers have always seemed to get the "calls" to go their way. just seems like it?????? the qb quandry will be the biggest issue for you guys this off season. if you get the right one, minny will be a superbowl contender, no doubt. like i said it's not always finding that superstar qb to build a team around. you guys have a great team already, now you just gotta find the right guy that works in your system.......thats how walsh, landry, knowl, lombardi.....the great ones did it. and yes that is the way bud grant did it with tarkenton. tarky was not proto type by anymeans, but he got it done.........garcia kinda reminds me of tarky?????

yes you are right about ziggy. my uncle said he'd hunt him down like a deer with an arrow in his belly. thats a gut shot, and minnesota hunters know the "bad" of that. i will say that i recently heard news that the city of sandiego are about to close a deal either for a new stadium or revamping qoualcom stadium as it sits. also the saints are in bad, bad shape. the state of louisiana owes them 27.5 million going into next year for revenue shares payments and the state is already in a 1.2 bill defisat in state money.????? law makers are now saying are the saints worth the money, no.......but having a superbowl every 5-7 years is to the area. they do not have to pay the nfl back for funding from the huricane, but state money needs to be used else where. so i do feel that if the vikings and the state of minnesota can reach even a slight agreement, it may in all likeness be the saints moving. but remember, the nfl does not want to look bad to the rest of the country and pull a franchise out of an economically depressed area and take one of the few revenue makers away that state has?????? the saints are contracted thru 2010, but if the state faults on the debt, they can leave after this season. that could be likely also...........i did my home work and will always be the first to admitt when i maybe wrong......so it looks like it may be up to the viking fans who really are home state fans to keep your team. someone shot at me and said Iowa did'nt have a pro team. well you are right, but Iowa has supportted the vikings almost as much as the fair weather fans from minny. bernie this is the fight here, and this is why i'm always so upset. your're a good fan and stay behind your team. but that ain't the case with alot of fans around here and in minny. they can be called fair weather for sure, and the weather ain't that good around here these days. good chattin with you again, bernie......thats what i'm sayin viking fans it won't be ziggy the bad guy, it's "your" vote and so far the fans have said NO??????

DallasDave, Yes, your uncle is definitely a long time Vikes fan, because Lurtzima and Kasaulke were from the old Vikings, as well as Milt Sundae, Oscar Reed, kicker Fred Cox, Bobbie Bryant, Dave Osborn, Gary Cuzzo and Allen Page. Unfortunately, Karl Kaussalke's career was cut short from a motorcycle accident, and he recently passed away. I have much more respect for the players of that era, because of their mental and physical toughness, they were'nt always crying about money or minor injuries, and they played with their hearts, it was'nt the big business that it is today. Anyways, thanks for the compliment. Dave, I was wondering who or what Lusk was. As far as knowledge, I'm not even close to this legend, I just remember certain players from back when. I would hope the Vikings could get Cassel from the Pats, but I agree with you that some QB's fit in only with certain coaches and systems. Remember, Rich Gannon? He was an average QB when he played for the Vikes, but when the Raiders got him, suddenly he was a great QB. I think that Rosenfels has the same potential, yet he's only a backup for the Texans. I'm not so high on Favre or Garcia anymore, i think both of them should retire for their own good. I have 3 brothers one a Cowboy fan, one a Bills fan, and the other is also a Vikes fan. The local paper is all Pittsburgh, and most people are Steeler fans. One reporter actually stated that other team fans were just jealous of the Steeler dominance, by complaining about the officials in the Superbowl. I hardly think 27-23 is dominating, especially against a low rated defense like the Cardinals. The Steelers were also aided by a holding call to beat the Seahawks in their previous Superbowl. You probably remember Dallas losing a close Superbowl to Pittsburgh, when Jackie Smith dropped an easy TD pass from Staubach. I'm sorry, but i hardly see the dominance in any of their games, heck if things were right, they'd be lucky if they were'nt 3-4. The only dominant Superbowl team was San Francisco at 5-0. I guess i can't blame the other Dave=the Vikes fan, young or not, he's standing by his team. I doubt anyone writing is looking for a fight. Ican't imagine if i wrote on the Cowboys web page ,that they may move to LA, the barrage of insults that would flood my e-mail. I just hope it isn't a possibility ,the state of Minnesota and fans across the U.S.A. would never forgive Ziggy, believe me , just remember the fiasco in Cleveland and Art Model.
