It was a good day to be a Viking at the Pro Bowl yesterday, with several of the team’s stars putting in standout performances. Top amongst the proud purplers was Antoine Winfield who made one of the game’s biggest plays, picking off Kerry Collins with the AFC driving to extend their 14-10 lead in the third. Wait…did I just call a pick from the Pro Bowl a “big play.” I apologize for that. It was a nice pick though – I saw a replay of it. No, I did not watch the game…I was busy sorting my underwear. That’s a big job, if you’ve never done it. First you have to separate the pairs with big holes from the pairs with small holes, then the ones with loose elastic from the ones where the elastic is still relatively taut. And then you get into the whole color area, which is another ball of wax entirely. But back to the Pro Bowl. As I was saying, it was a good day for the Vikes. Jared Allen had at least one sack I could find in the recap and Pat Williams even had a few tackles. Pat Williams? Wasn’t he injured? Well, he played. So did K-Will and Adrian Peterson. AD, unlike last year when Mike McCarthy deliberately tried to get him hurt, didn’t touch the ball much. Apparently the NFC ended up winning and Larry Fitzgerald was MVP. I bet that makes up for losing the Super Bowl. Sure.
