Colts Will Cut Marvin Harrison

From Adam SchefterMarvin Harrison‘s long and mostly glorious run with the Indianapolis Colts will come to an end, likely within the next week, when the team cuts him loose for salary cap reasons.  Harrison was due to make $13.4 million this year – too much to pay an injury-riddled former Pro Bowler with gun-related allegations hanging over his head – and by cutting him the team will be able to take around half of that number off the books.  I don’t know how much interest anyone would have in Harrison about now, but a guy with 1,102 career catches, 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns, who at 36 may still have a couple productive years left, is at least worth a look…assuming he wants to continue, of course.

Marvin Harrison is finished as a player. The media stated that he got into some kind of trouble with a gun outside a night club, then he looked downright awful when he came back from injuries, dropping pass after pass from Peyton Manning. I think the Vikings would be smart to stay away from troubled players like Harrison, Vick or Pacman Jones. We can’t afford another embarassing Love boat story again.
