I Found Our Quarterback…

Today is a great day Vikings fans, for we have learned that our savior is about to become available.

Yes, at last it has happened:

The Lions are going to cut Jon Kitna.

Don’t ask me why Detroit would do anything so crazy as to give away for nothing the toughest, grittiest quarterback ever to set cleats to gridiron, but they’re going to, and if the Vikings are smart, they will immediately snap him up.  And with Kitna and his divine healing powers leading our offense?  Winning the Super Bowl would only be the beginning.  The very cosmos would tremble at our feet.

This post is a joke right?

    Now that signing I LOVE.

I’ve always been a HUGE Kitna fan. The guy can just flat out play the game. I’ve never understood why he has bounced around so much. Especially amongst such poor teams.

Would be a huge huge triumph for the Vikes to pick him up. Especially if we can get him cheap.

    omg, we are doomed.

kitna would be a great backup qb……i wish dallas would sign him, and my hope is he settles at this point in his career as a backup

Just because he sucked with the  Lions doesn’t mean he’s going to play horrible with the Vikings. Remember Jeff Garcia playing for the Lions? Then suddenly he ends up in the playoffs with the eagles and tampa. HAHA Yeah whoever plays for the Lions…your career will end there. Just gotta find a team that has better coaching. Not sayin the vikings have a great coaching staff but at least we’re not the LIONS. I swear that team is cursed!

Jon Kitna wasn’t that bad with the Lions, actually it was just that nobody could rescue that team, they were that sad. One thing i like about Kitna is his tenacity for the game. He’s not a quitter. He can flat out wing the ball, and i believe he would have a much bigger impact on the Vikings team than Garcia. What hurt Kitna’s career, or why he got bounced around so much was simple. He never got to play on a good team to help him gain self confidence. I’d gotten a chance to see some of his games, both with the Lions and the Bengals. He was a victim of dropped passes, then frustration would set in ,and the interceptions followed in large numbers. Even when the Bengals or Lions defenses failed miserably, Kitna always had that eye of the tiger or never say die attitude. I hope it’s true that Detroit gives up on him, because he would definitely be a good fit in Minnesota. Here’s the scenario the way i see it, pick up Kitna, one other free agent WR, shore up the offensive line, get a CB and Safety, then get someone like Billick, who’d probably love to come back home to Minny to call the offense, Wow ,we may have a winner. No not just a winner, a Superbowl winner!! Sorry, but I have’nt been this anxious for the new season to start in a long time. Go Vikings!!!

I’m not even a big Garcia fan but at least signing him makes a little sense

If our QB is Detroit’s backup, why did we let go of their starter???

Great Post!  I think we could also use Pacman Jones, the greatest corner and return man to ever play the game.  With his intellect and on and off field leadership we would be contenders for sure………..puff puff pass…………
