Those who remain on T.J. Houshmandzadeh watch will evidently have to maintain the vigil a little longer. According to Bengals.com, there’s a good chance now that T.J., who was still enjoying the Vikings‘ hospitality the last we heard, will not make up his mind until Monday about where he wants to play in 2009. The good news is that Seattle seems to have all but dropped out of the race, meaning it’s between the Vikes and Cincinnati. Zygi Wilf‘s presentation to Housh the last two days is being described as a “full-court press,” but the Bengals could still be willing to cough up more money and a longer-term deal than the 3 years @ around $10 million/per the Vikes are believed prepared to offer.

I just got back from the Target Center where the wolves got creamed by the Rockets.

Wilf showed up in the middle of the third quarter. Right when he entered the arena the people around me started shouting “SIGN T.J.!!!” and he turned around and gave the thumbs up.

Housh was the Vikings second choice? I just read the Vikings offered Michael Clayton something like $5 million per year but he turned them down to stay in Tampa Bay. Strange Clayton would be their first choice!

The Vikings must wait for a Houshmandzadeh decision because they didn’t offer him as much money as the Bengals and Seahawks. That makes me feel better because maybe they will have enough money left over to get a real QB.
