yeah, bernie i agree. i was brought up on a farm in n.iowa. my grandpa was a redneck and very fowl mouthed. i picked it up. my dad and both my uncles were bad as well. the apple don’t fall far from the tree. my wife is always saying what you said, “that the language of a man indicates the educational level he’s at”. my wife always says that she knows i’m smarter than i sound……hahaha. thank you for the reminder. both my uncles have always fueded tobecause one is a packer fan in wicsonsin and one is a viking fan in minny. my dad, who is not a huge football fan said stay clear son, and look at those dallas cowboys with roger staubach. now there’s a hero. he liked staubach from his days at navy. i was born in ‘62 and staubach’ hiesman was ‘63. dad sais it’s meant to be. staubach is the way to go. so in 69-70 when roger came to dallas and i started liking football, dad advised me well. tom was a great man and coach. i’ve read his biography and am fasinated with his football knowledge. he more than anyone had a huge impact on vince lombardi when they were O-cord. and D-cord with the giants. lombardi said that landry was the most organized s.o.b. he ever met. landry said, “well being called an s.o.b. is a good compliment coming from vince.” landry had a good sence of humor even if he was protrayed as a stone face. bud grant always admired landry as well, and said “it’s difficult to remain calm and collect under emince pressure, that’s what grace under pressure means.” those 2 were good friends as well and mutually respectful of each. i miss those days. i love the rabid fans that the vikes have and this is what i believe is the key to keep the vikes in minny, but they gotta start yelling now, cause it’s almost too late????

Dallas Dave, I just wanted to point out that i really don’t see a reason to use bad language. Hey, i’ll be the first to admit i swear once in awhile out of anger, mostly. Believe me, living in Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh Steeler country, the Steeler fans here use the worst profanity on a daily basis, whether they win or lose, and a few words in some of your comments, really pale in comparison to the words out of the Steeler fans garbage mouths, i ‘m just tired of hearing it constantly. Anyways, i’m not professing to be some religious fanatic or some perfect yahoo, but i like chatting on this site with other fans, mainly because i counted about 97 Viking fans in my hometown, and we are scattered miles away. Dave, getting back to the Steeler fans, i would’nt let my three daughters one hundred yards within these foul-mouths, and to think they have kids of their own. I said before, that i respect other fans for other teams. I had a lot of respect for Tom Landry, the Cowboys former coach, the man was a great coach, as was Rodger Staubach-QB, Randy White-DT= The Manster great players, just to name a few. I was’nt happy the way the owner Jerry Jones tossed Landry out, like he was dirt, it was shameful on his part, and for that reason, i have less respect for that organization. It sounds like you’re uncle is a longtime Vikings fan, who is very concerned about the team moving to LA. The reason i can’t see it happening is that i witnessed what happened in Cleveland years ago, when the owner Art Modell moved them to Baltimore, and became the Ravens. My hometown borders Cleveland and Buffalo, and we do have quite a few Browns fans. There were actually many death threats levied at Modell when the deal went through, and i can’t imagine the Vikings owner even considering going down that same road to LA. This is what i mean about fans obsession with their favorite teams.

ryan, being deeply hurt is ofcorse a joke. i don’t take this too seriously. it’s banter and prospecting news. it was my attempt at humor….. bernie i do appologize if it seems i come on here to cuss everyone out. again, maybe as you said a failed attempt at more humor…….not my intention by any means. i do feel very anxeious about the vikings moving. i’m dead serious guys if you don’t speak up, they’ll be gone. i’m not trying to annoy or piss people off, but that is the truth. and profanity is not becoming a gentleman. bernie i agree, and for you my friend i’m intelligent enough to see that it does indeed make a person look ignorant. you are right, i do feel as though i have some good football knowledge, and i’d like you guys to veiw it that way too. so because you asked politely, i will refrain from profanity as much as my red-neck midwest upbringing will allow. the guys on landryhat are pretty good guys by the way bernie, stop in sometime and see. they’re the same. if someone has some good comments to make they’re taken well. my language was never intended to be directed at you as viking fans personally, but more of a general phrasing, but still no excuse i understand. and thank you for your compliments as well. your always welcome at our cowboy home : “the landryhat”

DallasDave, I’ve seen your comments on other team web pages and you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge about football, but i don’t think Viking fans want to hear anymore rumors about moving to LA. Right now we’re just hoping to fill the gaps that exist in our team’s offense, especially at QB, even though i don’t mind Rosenfels, i do believe we should spend the money on a big-time QB like Cutler, it would definitely give the fans some hope, and i think we deserve that much. Honestly, the last team we had that got the fans pumped up, was when Cunningham and Moss had our offense at #1. We were 15-1 that year and lost only to Tampa Bay in the regular season, then choked at home to Atlanta in the NFC Championship game. Sure we had some good years with Culpepper at QB, but he, like Donavan McNabb, could not win the big game. We were actually a hop, skip and a jump away from a perfect season, only accomplished by Miami. Dave, you should tone down the profanity you use in your comments. Look, we all get mad now and then, but you can avoid using too much foul language, it makes you seem ignorant at times. I know some people use it to be funny or mean, but if you consistently use bad language towards Vikings fans, while on the Viking web page, than expect no mercy in return. You seem like a good person with some very good insight, but imagine one of us Viking fans on the Dallas Cowboy website cussing everyone out, and saying Dallas is moving to LA. What do you think the response would be? I actually think most of the Vikings fans have been pretty tolerant so far, i doubt Dallas fans would treat us better.

do you remember when i came on here and said all the viking fans do was whine and bitch about their team and i’m sick of it???? well that qoute comes from my uncle, who i consider the biggest vike fan i ever knew. he said if the fans would stop bitchin about the team and bitch to the state leaders like that, we’d keep this team. there’s my crime………so hang me for it……but i’ll still say the same thing to you guys if it can save this football team from movin. so see , i might be a bigger viking fan than some of you guys would think.????

danzinski, i’m deeply hurt. i come on here and offer you some great football banter. i’m on here as much as your regulars. i call it like it is. i don’t mince words, but i may have miss judged some. and to those i have appologized. ask mike. i have treated bernie jelinek with class, even when i so called insulted him, i gave him a great complement by comparing him to a great sports reporter named bernie lusk. i told allday 28 ,thanks, but no thanks;…politely…..i came on here out of retaliation, remember? you go over to the landryhat ever so often, and do a groin punch out of the blue and then run away. so i came here to tell you not all cowboy fans are as bad as the ones you hate. i told all you guys on a continual bases the the vikings will be headed to L.A. in 2010. which i still think will happen if the state of minnesota and the city of minneapolis does’nt do something about it. i ran it under your skin cause i want you guys who are viking fans to DO something about it. my uncle who lives in rochester minn. calls his congressman once a week just to remind him of how the viking fans feel about their team. so i thought i could spark some of you guys too. i live in this area, do you think i want the vikings to leave even if i don’t follow them? you guys ain’t my enemies, just my opponents. i have family that back the vikings with blood, so i back my cowboys the same. that’s why i respect all you die-hard football fans. so i don’t feel i’ve ever done anything to be banned over, it’s free press anyway is’nt it? i like you guys here and have tried just to be a good and objective fan. i have made good points and good arguments. i even agree with you once in a while, there, danzinski…….but please stop associating your blog; “pac-man jonesin” with the dallas cowboys. we cut ties with him, and it’s getting more obvilious that there are other teams out there with more criminals then us. hell all we did was try to re-hab them. is that so bad?????
