Maybe Sage just needs a chance, Don't want to throw him under the bus either.

You guys make good points on Garcia, Maybe J. Booty will step it up this year a little more and maybe they will go for someone like Bomar or White... I really would like Jackson to come into his own, He's not a Cry baby , Likeable Guy...

Chuck, Jeff Garcia played with a lot of heart, but his time has come to retire. His body took a beating over the years, especially when he played for Cleveland. He may have a little life left in him, but we have Rosenfels, who has more arm strength, and less wear and tear. I believe Garcia's better days are behind him. Could he help the Vikings? Maybe a few games, if that. I agree with Ryan, in that we've got to get an established QB with youth on his side. The way we've been attracting new blood lately, i seriously doubt Cutler will play in Minnesota. One thing i do know for sure, is that Cutler can't use the T-Jack excuse, if he signs with another team. As far as future picks like White, who is a great athlete, as was Vince Young, you never know if these guys can make the QB leap from college to Pro, Young has similar abilities as White, but he's had a hard time making that adjustment.

I believe our front office doesn't think Jeff Garcia has much left in the tank, I mean I am sure he could come in and look good in a couple games but the big question is how durable he is gonna be? Do we really wan't to bring in 40 year old that is probably going to end up getting hurt in week 12? I really don't think so, what we need is team continuity, we can't just keep bringing in guys that are just gonna be gone in a year, with Sage we know we have atleast 5-6 years with and everywhere I read about him he sounds like a great/smart guy to have on your team and around the community, I personally haven't yet givin' up on Jackson, but I have to admit I am a little tired of him but I thought he finished last year strong. Unfortunatley I dont see that many options out there, nothing would be an upgrade unless we traded for Cutler which most likely is not gonna happen, we also may Draft someone in one of the later rounds, I wouldn't mind picking up Rhett Bomar or maybe Pat White, but other than that I see no other options.

Ryan,
What do you think of Jeff Garcia??? Had pretty good success with 49'ers, Eagles and the Bucs, West Coast QB , Couple years left, Smart with the ball... Just would like more than Sage in the mix... Can you think of any other options???

Yeah I agree with you Chuck, I was all up for getting Cutler but for what price? We would most likely have to give up one of our defensive studs and an early round draft picks.

Bern,
I Really hope they sign Leonard , Ryan said Favre won't be back, It really looks that way... But anything can happen between now and the start of the season, Maybe the Jets will go after Cutler, The Vikes don't have the dealing power that alot of the team that are interested in him have. If the Jets got him they would release Farve, If he had Surgery and healed it could be a possibility, Browns, Lions,Bucs, Titians, Bears, and maybe others, Really don't see them pulling the trigger on this, I'm at the Crossroads on Culter, Major Upgrade, But the cost and attitude, Sure would be nice to see a Cornerstone at QB for long term though...

Chuck, I agree totally with the step in the right direction. The few games that i'd seen Seattle play in, Weaver looked like a very good, hard-nosed runner with good hands. If we could steal him away from Seattle, he could fit into the offense i was talking about, using the old Robert Smith screen play, plus a valuable short-yardage running game, remember all of those fourth down and one failures last season? Granted we get a QB, our offense would have defenses guessing all day, 2 WR's , A.P. and Weaver in the backfield, Cutler or Favre at QB, then add the TE, 10-15 yards downfield, and guess what? We got a winner, cause our great defense won't let us down, cause now we got a great offense.
