7 Days of Draftsmas: Vikings Might Not Get a Shot at Harvin?

Much as I always hesitate to post anything said by Mike Florio aka the Master of Pulling Stuff Out of His Own Behind, I just can’t help myself.  The guy is like crack or Twitter or doughnuts:  bad for me, but ooooooh so good.  The latest item to be yanked by Florio steaming and smelly from his own orifice and offered up for public consumption is a bit of half-founded speculation that the Raiders could pull off a stunner and take Percy Harvin with the #7 overall pick, a move that would, obviously, put the kibosh on any attempt by the Vikings to procure the same player’s dubious services.  Florio bases this shot in the dark on two things:  one, the chatter he’s hearing that a big surprise is in the offing for the top 10, and; two, the Raiders’ history of taking chances on questionable people like Harvin.  Just another thing to add to the mix while we wait (and wait and wait) for the picks to start coming in.

Topics: Mike Florio, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Percy Harvin

Mel Kiper was the mock draft that projected WR Percy Harvin at 17 to the New York Jets.  But most drafts have Harvin in the 20s with several to the Vikings, some later in the round.

NY Daily News reporter Rich Cimini hears the Jets would likely pass on Percy Harvin if he’s there at 17 because there is ”Too much baggage.”  I guess maybe psychologist Childress can have Harvin, baggage and all.
