The Vikings brought an end to the 2009 draft, for them at least, by taking Jamarca Sanford, a safety out of Mississippi. Yes, another SEC guy. The Vikings love the SEC. Sanford, says here, has excellent bulk, is super tough, physical and aggressive, is a good tackler and has a terrific motor. He’s also small, not very agile and isn’t great in coverage. Sounds like a prototypical Childress-era Vikings defensive back. Obviously, we don’t expect a whole lot from Mr. Sanford. In fact, this could be the last time we ever even mention him.
