"No Thawing" Between Favre and Packers

Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel just posted on Twitter – who the hell needs newspapers and blogs and all that inconvenient stuff anymore – that, according to Packers sources, there has been “no thawing” of the relationship between the newly-released Brett Favre and Packers G.M. Ted Thompson, the man Favre bullied into trading him last summer.  This news will no doubt add even more fuel to the already inferno-level speculative fires currently raging in the media about a Favre migration to Minnesota.  Favre maintains that, as of now, he is retired.  Well, as of now, I am not in bed, but at some point I will be.

Brett Favre bullied Packers G.M. Ted Thompson into trading him last summer???  More like Thompson railroaded Favre to New York when he wanted to go to Minnesota.  The Vikings Packer rivalry will hit fever pitch.

  • jeege

    Hell yes!

  • jeege

The only fever that the Pack will be getting this year is the swine flu!

    budump ch

    I apologize.

  • MJ

Take him and his weak a$$ arm. He’s done.  Typical to wish something on another like the swine flu. . . .Mud Duck!

  • jeege

I take it back. I only wish MJ gets the flu.

  • Mike

MJ is a disgruntled Packer fan who is about to get more upset.

  • MJ

lol, not disgruntled at all. Do I like how the Brett scenario ended in GB? No, but I moved on and I can’t say that about alot of the cheeseheads here. I just think it’s silly that a guy 5 years ago you would have wanted dead, you are now thinking he will lead you to glory. You have a great balanced team and I think you would do better with Sage as QB. Brett is not the same QB he was in years past. He is slow and his arm has lost alot of power. Take him, but be ready for what’s to come along with an aging QB. All good things must come to an end.

  • Mike

Typical Packers fan doesn’t want us to get him.  Sage is a career backup.

  • MJ

No take him, if that’s what you want. I have not said you shouldn’t take him, just be careful for what you wish for is all. There is alot of hype being built up about this. One more thing I do not consider my self a “typical” Packers fan, I look at both sides of the story. Like I said, I wasn’t happy about him leaving and still wear the jersey on Sundays and get grief from it from moronic GBP fans. I’m merely stating that Brett may not be the dude you think he is, more a shell of his former self. He can still win games, but I don’t know if he can win the ones that count.  Good discussion!

  • Mike

MJ, if Favre doesn’t work out we can always go one and done again.

  • MJ

Good luck to you Mike. At least we have one thing in common. . . . our first names! I will check back here in the future. This is the first blog with Vikings fans that didn’t turn into a pi$$ing contest. I’ll say one thing, if he does go to Minnesota, it will ramp up an already crazy rivalry.
