Chmura Rules Out Favre Return

Everyone’s weighing in on the Brett Favre return rumors, including Brett’s old teammate Mark “Hot-Tub” Chmura, who is of the opinion that Brett has played his last game in the NFL.  “He will not be coming back,” Chmura told ESPN Radio Milwaukee.  “Take that to the bank. He wishes he didn’t come back last year.”

Chmura says Favre has realized, after the way things ended with the Jets, that he isn’t the player he once was.  “…I think he was embarrassed about last year, I really do. I think the embarrassing part was the way he finished. And I think he’s coming to the realization that hey, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t. I’m going to be 40 in October, and I just can’t do this and I’m starting to look a little foolish.”

Then again, if Favre played poorly the end of last year because of a biceps injury, and that injury can be healed, why couldn’t he then believe that he can come back stronger?  You can play that both ways:  either he’s embarrassed about last season and knows he’s done, or he’s embarrassed and doesn’t want to go out that way, and will try to play one more year to hopefully go out on top.  It all boils down to the way his arm feels, which is why I don’t think this will be resolved until well into the summer.  He will give it as much time as possible before making up his mind.

First Bus Cook.  Now Chewbacca.  Favre will enlist everyone he can to get the public off his back.  But no one will believe it until the start of the season when some center (I don’t know who) hikes the ball to either Favre or T-Jack (I don’t know who).  But if it is T-Jack, I am going to be sick.

I would like to see Brett play again with a team that really appreciate the way he plays, he is a trully example for many players that just play for the money. I was a Packer fan for many years but now I follow Brett Favre wherever he is going to play.

    Lourdes,

And that’s why you are an idiot!

MJ, name caller, you must be a paint-thinner drinking Packers fan.

There was nothing embarrassing about the way Favre played last year. He was great until he got hurt and even after that, it was the play calling that cost them more than the arm injury.
