Rick Schwartz of Yahoo! Sports says Brett Favre has told the Minnesota Vikings he is not coming out of retirement to play in 2009. Schwartz says Favre had a phone conversation with someone connected to the team in the last day and informed them of his decision. This would certainly seem to jibe with the developments of the past day, including Bus Cook’s adamant denial of Favre’s desire to return, and our discovery this morning that Brad Childress had never left Minnesota for that alleged meeting. Of course this doesn’t mean the reports by Ed Werder et al were wrong: there probably was supposed to be a meeting between Childress and Favre, but Brett decided not to go through with it, and made the phone call. Sorry Favre-ites, but it looks like your dream has been dashed.

FUCK
This is no BS, if it doesn’t work out, I am sorry for you guys. It would have made a great rivalry even greater (one the Bears would only dream of). You must remember, before last year we dealt with this “is he going to retire or not crap” for four years. It was an emotinal rollercoaster, not unlike you guys are feeling now. Just remember, Brett has changed his mind numerous times before. The thing is, do you really want that distraction on your team?
YES! Can the world stop talking about that asshat now?
NFL Live said Farve didn’t want to go through training camps. It might not be over. Perhaps Chilly will relent and let him train in Mississippi. I think he wants to be with hs family like he has in the past.
Have fun sucking this year guys. Wildcard at best.
Suck me Paul.
Wildcard my ace Paul, we’re still the best team in the division with or without Favre.
How much would JDB have sold his # for? Atari Bigby will take Sage’s head off.
Bigby sucks just like the rest of the Packers. How’d you guys finish up last year? Like it or not we won the division with T-Jack and Gus and Sage is an upgrade from Frerotte. We got rid of the corpse known as Darren Sharper and drafted the biggest playmaker in the draft. You really think Raji will be able to catch AP or Harvin? Get real, we’ll win the division by at least 2 games sucka!
It’s not over until the Chilly sings…………
I hope Chilly doesn’t sing
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA its yahoo sports i wont believe it till favre isn’t in a purple uni in September

If this is true then all Minnesota fans put on your Sunday best to wave goodbye to the Vikings as they streak through the skies to sunny California…Yes I know Sage is their and for all you die hard TJ fans, you think that one of them will take the Vikings to the promised land…well I don’t think it will happen. And I’ll go one better…if the Vikings still remain in Minnesota (slim chance) the child coach will be gone…In will come a new coach and a new playbook and the cycle starts all over again for Viking fans…and that really SUCKS!!!!
We’ll see what happens in a few months. Maybe the old man will change his mind sooner or later. I don’t care if we get favre or not i still think we can win the division.
i’m only gonna say this one more time vike fans; you guys got a good enough team to win without farve. a top 5 D, one of the biggest o-lines in the game. ……A.P……….good young wrs, and a young hungry qb in sage rosenfels…………i think you can win with that……..wait and see.
davedallasfan, thought it was a lock, done deal from your viable source ???
Nothing is a done deal with Favre.
i can’t believe that people have the whole english language to use and they can only use four letters. how intelligent.
Brett will not play for the Vikings! The new talk in Green Bay is him coaching at O.C. or QB’s in 2010. Sorry!
#4, please provide your source. One article should do.
