The Vikings Blogosphere on Favre

What other Vikings bloggers are saying about Brett Favre (because there’s nothing new to report and frankly I can’t muster the will to whip up anything of my own right now):

Daily Norseman:  “To sanitize a commonly used phrase, both the Vikings and Brett Favre need to either defecate or remove themselves from the porcelain waste disposal device.”

Pacifist Viking:  “Perhaps it was all just a test of Viking fans’ loyalty.  Make die-hard Viking fans actually want Favre, then leave them in shame, making all their future ‘Favre was an overrated media creation’ arguments sheepish and tainted.”

Realfootball365: “Favre has been gushed about for so long that he can’t help but have a warped sense of reality. Sociologists have been writing about this phenomenon for years now, usually dealing with teenagers who have been targeted for greatness since sixth or seventh grade. The result is a sense of entitlement.

Skol Vikes: “Picture Favre, Adrian Peterson, [Percy] Harvin, Chester Taylor, Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice all on the field at the same time. I’m thinking Super Bowl homeboy.”

The Ragnarok:  “If I believed Favre would be willing to step into the ‘game manager’ role as quarterback, I might be a little more ok with this. But I don’t. Favre doesn’t just want to win–he wants to be the reason for the victory.”

Daily Norseman still doesn’t realize Favre is pulling everyones chain until he can ditch OTAs before signing with Vikes.

    Pacificist Viking are wimps.

RealFootball365 should just stick to real football and forget the psycho-babble.

Skol Vikings skols with the Vikings winning Super Bowl!
The Ragnorak has been trashing my Favre talk for months and wrote the game manager article after I told him Brian Billick said Favre would be used as a game manager.  He disagreed in the article but didn’t dispute my response that Chilly has run a WCO with more rushing since he left Philly, even before AP came.

I would rather drink the Williams brothers enema juice than see Brett Favre on the Vikings. THIS GUY IS THE ADOLF HITLER OF THE NFC NORTH. DIE DIE DIE.

  • Mike

    Favre haters are sick!

Mike – Daily Norseman still doesn’t realize Favre is pulling everyones chain until he can ditch OTAs before signing with Vikes.

If he was serious about wanting to take this seriously, don’t you think he would wan’t to be at OTA’s?

  • Mike

Bloom, Favre doesn’t believe OTAs are helpful for him, given his 18 years of experience.  His fallout with the Packers also happened for the same reason.  But yes if I were him I would just go.  It can’t be that bad.

  • Bloom

Yeah, I really hope the injury is not that bad, hopefully he takes training camp seriously and becomes good friends with the entire team, something he was criticized for in New York.

The enemy of our enemy is our friend.

Bloom, the injury is not that serious (just a bicep tear), but I wouldn’t count on him being good friends with the entire team or taking training camp seriously.  Because of his extraordinay durability, he is spanning generations of football players.  He is already knows the offense from 18 years and even though he is a likeable guy, he is aloof with the young kids.  He has been described as having incredible knowledge of the game – ancient wisdom.  Even Berrian says Favre doesn’t need to be in all camps.

  • Bloom

All I am saying is he should be in the top shape of his life if this is his last year.

  • Mike

Bloom, I agree with that.  That is why he wants to hire a personal trainer and QB coach to help him in Mississippi.

  • Bloom

Oh yeah I heard about that, you think his trainer will be somehow be connected to the Vikings?
