Tarkenton was a great QB and deserves respect. HOWEVER, he needs to just shut up about this. He is contributing to all the negative hype and is helping GB and the naysayers to detract from the goal: reaching the Superbowl and winning. Fran is probably a little jealous and a little mad that he never got paid the money that today would be paid to a great QB- I would be jealous too- He can either be with us or against us- sounds to me like he is anti-vikings

Fran is an idiot. I grew up loving the guy, who couldn’t win a Super Bowl. But rather than take the high road, show some class, and not make such “sour grapes” comments, he spouts off about one of the game’s great Quarterbacks who always played with child like enthusiasm, tough as nails, and virtually never missed a game; played 291 straight games to be exact. Fran is a forgotten Hall of Fame QB. They talk about Montana, Young, Bradshaw, Staubach, Namath, Greise, Fouts, Elway, Marino, Aikman, Peyton Manning….nobody talks about Fran Tarkenton anymore. Fran needs to get over his sour disposition (he sounds like a Jim Brown), and go get a new haircut. I have no respect for Tarkenton after his classless comments on Favre…”I hope Favre goes to Minnesota so he can fail”. I think Fran has been slammed on his head too many times. Plus, should Favre had gone to Minnesota, and won them a Super Bowl with the talent the Vikes now have, they’d forget about #10 in a hurry. Fran knew that, and his Ego spoke it.
