2004 NFC Wild Card Playoffs vs Vikings

In the 76-year history of post-season play in the NFL, no playoff team has ever produced a worse record over their final 10 games than the 2004 Minnesota Vikings. After starting the season 5-1, they win only three more times to stumble into the post-season with an 8-8 record. The Packers have already beaten them twice, and now they have the seemingly easy task of finishing them off at Lambeau Field. However, Favre throws four interceptions on his way to a 31-17 loss. Daunte Culpepper, who like Michael Vick two years earlier should have no business being on the same field with Favre, throws four touchdown passes and zero interceptions as Favre is shamed out of yet another post-season.

Daunte Culpepper had no business being on the field with Favre? Did this guy look at Daunte’s stats from 2004? Other than that bit of wanton absurdity, it’s a fantastic list. Fran Tarkenton approves.

Is Farve a Choker or not? He has coughed up more crucial interceptions than anyone this side of Fran Tarkenton. One Super Bowl win in perhaps 15 visits to the playoffs. Has any other QB had a worse percentage?
Is he also a Media Enabler? He manipulates media at a Muhammad Ali level. When is every media outlet gonna' learn. The boy wants attention. Drama Queen!!

im a old packer fan. i would take farve over any qb he is the greatest ever, and most of his games would be played in a dome so weather will not be the issue...come back brett please....

Vikings fans should be VERY careful about gloating about other teams' "choke jobs" over the last two decades ... anyone's, really, but especially Favre/Packers. Favre's Packers had only one losing season in 16 years, and an overall winning record in postseason as well. For every one game you can come up with as a "choke", there are at least two you can put in the "amazing" category.

Top 4 Reasons to get Favre:

(1) Read defenses. Before the Philly game, Chris Carter said the Vikings would lose because T-Jack can't read defenses. Ben Leber said Favre is superb at reading defenses.

(2) Handle the blitz. In 2007, the last time both played full seasons relatively healthy, Favre was rated one of the highest and T-Jack one of three lowest against the blitz.

(3) Perform in clutch. Favre has 42 4th qtr and OT comebacks in his career (#2 on the all time list).

(4) Throw lasers with accuracy. Chilly has been upset with T-Jack's accuracy since he got here.

Favre has 42 4th qtr and OT comebacks in his career. That's over 2.5 seasons worth of games of comebacks. That's #2 on the all time list.

Ok back to talking about his choke jobs.....

ESPN's Trent Dilfer said if the Vikings don't get Favre they should play T-Jack at QB. They better get Favre or season is over.

Really pathetic Danzinski. Brett Favre is the winningiest QB in the entire history of the entire NFL. So what if the Steeler Tribute found 10 bad games out of nearly 300. But the bigger question is why did they bother? Did they try to find 10 for T-Jack or better yet Grumpy Old Fran? I can think of 3 bad games off the top of my head for Fran just remembering all of his nightmare super bowl performances.
